“Earth From Space” documentary screening
Thursday, Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m.
“Earth From Space” takes you on an epic quest to discover the invisible forces and processes that sustain life on our planet and, for the first time, see them in action in their natural environment in vivid detail. A short discussion will take place after the movie with Larry Fansler.
The New Recorder Consort performance
Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
The consort is comprised of seven recordists who will perform some of Stephen Foster’s most beloved songs, including “Susanne,” “Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair,” and “Beautiful Dreamer.” They will also perform classic songs from the Romantic and Renaissance eras. The performance will feature the unique sounds of garklein recorders.

Joy Myers will perform a wide variety of musical selections including classical, pop, Broadway standards and much more.
“Life’s Third Act” TED Talk screening and discussion
Thursday, Oct. 12 at 10:30 a.m.
In this TED Talk, Jane Fonda asks how we can re-imagine this new phase of our lives. TED is a nonpartisan nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks.
“Rococo to Revolution” with Dr. Marilyn R. Brown
Monday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m.
Dr. Brown will examine basic trends in late 18th-century art leading up to the French Revolution, the Rococo, bourgeois Naturalism, and especially Neoclassicism, ranging from archeological to romantic and revolutionary. Refreshments will be served. Brown is a professor of art history at University of Colorado Boulder and holds a doctor of philosophy from Yale University.
Halloween celebration and sing-a-long
Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m.
Start your celebrations early and come dressed in your spookiest, funniest or most outrageous costume! Flatiron’s Terrace’s favorite entertainer Josh Brookstein will host a festive sing-a-long. Brookstein will provide guests with easy-to-read lyric books containing songs ranging from the 1920s to the 1970s. Brookstein will accompany the sing-a-longs on his acoustic guitar.
The Life/Dance Art Ensemble performance
Saturday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m
This talented group of professional dancers and musicians believe “life is a moving canvas!” Collaborating with other artists, this group explores the intricacies of personal and social issues, creating an artist interface with the community. Directed by Jessica Olin, they revisit dances and music from the past and also current numbers you have never seen.
“What It Feels Like to See Earth from Space” TED Talk screening and discussion

What the astronauts felt when they saw Earth from space changed them forever. In this TED Talk, author and artist Benjamin Grant aims to provoke this same feeling of overwhelming scale and beauty in each of us through a series of stunning satellite images that show the effects human beings are having on the planet. Boulder’s Founders and Pioneers presentation
Friday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m.
In the presentation, Emily Wilson will discuss the colorful characters of the pioneers and explain what is was like for the first settlers in Boulder.
