Marilyn Brown to present ‘German Romanticism’
Monday, Jan. 15 at 4 p.m.
Flatirons Terrace will welcome Dr. Marilyn Brown for her art lecture “German Romanticism” in the Wildflower Room. Brown will examine the works of Romantic painters Philipp Otto Runge and Caspar David Friedrich, and explore the emergence of a new kind of nature mysticism, as well as the origins of “the sublime” in landscape. Brown is a professor of art history at University of Colorado Boulder and holds a doctor of philosophy from Yale University.
Ragtime Randy to perform
Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 4 p.m.
We once again welcome Ragtime Randy for a musical performance in the Columbine Dining Room. The musical director and composer for the Heritage Square Music Theater, Johnson will perform toe-tapping favorites.
Photo tour through Spain
Friday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.
Joy Wallin will treat us to a photo tour through Spain in the Wildflower Room. Wallin’s presentation will feature photos from her eight-day bicycling tour through the country’s Catalonia Costa Brava region. Wallin will touch on the natural, historic, cultural and political points of interest she encountered.
